Early on in my painting venture, I was eager to capture family, friends, and colleagues on canvas. Occasional self-portraits show me aging. Gracefully I hope? I have favored rendering old people, even when i was young. Even as my work tended toward landscape, I could not and cannot resist figures and faces.
