I have been inspired by frequent walks in all seasons in 2018-19 through Elizabeth Park on the Hartford/West Hartford border. The book Overstory helped convince me that trees communicate and reach out to their neighbors giving and receiving help. California’s horrendous wildfires prompted a response in my work. The tree paintings suggest humanity in a variety of shapes, attitudes and conditions.
